The short version
- Your entries belong to you. We do not sell them, share them with advertisers, or use them to train AI models.
- You need an account so your entries survive a lost phone. That is the only reason.
- Entries can be stored encrypted, so they are unreadable without your key.
- The free version shows ads. Ads are the only part of the app that involves an advertising company.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app at any time.

What we collect
- Your account: your email address, or the Apple or Google identifier you signed in with.
- Your entries: the text you write, the date, and — only if you switch it on — the place an entry happened.
- Your settings: reminder time, language, streak history.
- Purchase status: whether you have Premium. We never see your card details; Apple and Google handle payment.
- Diagnostics: crash reports, performance traces and aggregate usage counts, so we can find bugs.
- Advertising identifiers: only in the free version, and only for the ads.
Why we are allowed to
- To give you the app you asked for — that is the contract between us (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To keep the app working and find crashes — our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- For ads and for optional location — only with your consent, which you can take back (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Who else processes your data
We use these companies to run the app. They are bound by contract to use your data only to provide their service.

Reflections and AI
When — and only when — you ask for a Reflection, the entries you chose are sent to OpenAI to write it, and the result comes back to you. Your entries are not used to train models. If you never tap the button, nothing is ever sent.
How long we keep it
Your entries stay until you delete them or delete your account. Diagnostic data is kept in aggregate for up to 14 months. Deleting your account removes your entries from our systems.
Your rights

- Correct anything that is wrong
- Have your data deleted
- Restrict or object to how it is used
- Take your data elsewhere
- Complain to your data protection authority
To use any of these, email us. We answer within a month, usually much sooner.
Children
MindHappy is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
