What it looks like

What MindHappy does
MindHappy is a gratitude journal built around one small daily habit: write down three good things that happened today. It takes a minute, and it compounds.
THREE GOOD THINGS, EVERY DAY
Each entry holds three moments, tagged with the date and, if you want it, the place they happened. Months later you can look back and see exactly where you were when something went right.
KEEP THE STREAK
MindHappy tracks your current and longest streak, so the habit has something to hold onto on the days you don't feel like writing.
A GENTLE NUDGE, NOT A NAG
Set one reminder for the time of day that actually suits you — the evening wind-down, morning coffee, the walk home. One notification. That's it.
ON YOUR WRIST
The Apple Watch companion lets you capture a moment the second it happens, without reaching for your phone.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Your entries are yours. They sync to your account, can be stored encrypted, and are never sold, shared, or mined to advertise to you.
A LOOK BACK, WRITTEN FOR YOU
Ask MindHappy to read your recent entries and reflect them back — the patterns you have been writing about without noticing. Once a month for free, unlimited with Premium.
IN YOUR LANGUAGE
Fully translated into more than 30 languages.
WHY GRATITUDE
Keeping a regular gratitude journal is one of the most studied habits in positive psychology, and the research consistently links it to higher well-being and less negative rumination. MindHappy exists to make that habit small enough to actually keep.
Free to use, forever. Premium unlocks unlimited reflections and removes ads.
Feature descriptions on this page are the same text as the App Store listing for this language.
Why gratitude journaling works
Writing down what went well is one of the most studied exercises in positive psychology. Three papers are worth knowing about.
Counting blessings versus burdens
People asked to list things they were grateful for once a week reported better mood and fewer physical complaints than people who listed hassles.

Writing down three things that went well each day, and why they went well, raised happiness scores and lowered depressive symptoms for six months in a randomised trial. This is the exercise MindHappy is built around.

A review of the research linking gratitude to well-being, and an honest account of where the evidence is strong and where it is thin.

Common questions
Is MindHappy free?
Yes, and it stays free. You can write an entry every day, keep your streak and look back at old entries without paying. Premium removes the ads and unlocks unlimited Reflections.
Does it work offline?
You can write without a connection. Entries sync to your account the next time the app is online, so they survive a lost or replaced phone.
Are my entries private?
Your entries are stored in your own account and can be held encrypted. They are never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to train anything. Only you can read them.
Can I get a copy of my entries?
There is no one-tap export in the app yet. Email hello@startleanhq.com from the address on your account and we will send you a copy of your data — that is your right of access under the GDPR.
Is MindHappy on iPhone and Android?
Both. There is an iPhone app, an Android app and an Apple Watch app. Your entries sync between them through your account.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
Yes. The Apple Watch app lets you write a moment down the second it happens, without taking your phone out. It syncs with the iPhone app.
What is the three good things exercise?
Every evening you write down three things that went well that day, and ideally why they went well. It comes from a 2005 study by Seligman and colleagues, and it is the exercise MindHappy is built around.
How is this different from a mood tracker?
A mood tracker asks you to rate how you feel. MindHappy asks you to name three specific things that happened. You end up with a record of your life rather than a chart of your moods.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Account, and tap Delete Account. That removes your entries from our systems. If you cannot get into the app, email hello@startleanhq.com and we will do it for you.
How many languages does MindHappy speak?
35. The whole app is translated, not just the menus, and this website is available in the same 35 languages.
